Seminars
This aims to create awareness of the need and power of data science
for health among clinicians, health researchers, policymakers, and
students through short 1- to 2-hour seminars at these institutions.
-
Reach out to university medical schools and clinicians to
understand their needs and how we can support adopting data
science tools for health decision making. The target institutions
include Aga Khan University, Kenyatta University Hospital, and
Kenyatta Hospital in the first year, with an adjustment to include
other hospitals in the subsequent years. Outcome: identify
clinicians interested in applying data science in their work who
would participate in workshops and training.
-
We will create awareness through the Eneza website, short videos,
blog posts, Twitter, and partner Twitter accounts (DSI, EANBiT,
BHKI, etc), the Bioinformatics Hub of Kenya with more than 1500
followers on Twitter and membership that represents students and
graduates of many institutions in Kenya. The outcome of this is to
create awareness of data science for health and to grow the
interest of students in joining post-graduate programs in the DSI
consortium.
-
Sensitize the stakeholders on open science, data governance, and
ethics through short seminars linked to the above outreach
activities.
